The role of Valet Supervisor at Grand Sierra Resort is crucial in maintaining the smooth operational flow and premium guest services at the valet and porte-cochere areas. This position involves overseeing daily valet operations, including staffing, managing wait times, and coordinating assignments to ensure the highest level of service quality. The Valet Supervisor not only leads the team on the floor but also supports scheduling, training, and guest service initiatives that align with the resort’s standard of excellence. This full-time role demands a proactive leader who is visible, approachable, and capable of managing both operational logistics and guest interactions with professionalism and care. Focused on the guest experience, the supervisor actively manages the flow of vehicles, addresses any escalations, and ensures that all team members are performing their duties effectively. The role requires the ability to adapt to busy and dynamic shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, adhering to safety and cleanliness protocols within the parking and porte areas.

This position also requires collaboration with the Front Services Manager and other supervisors to manage staffing needs, training programs, and operational improvements. Responsibilities extend to maintaining vehicle tracking systems, documenting incidents, and ensuring safety standards are upheld. Candidates must show competency in driving, supervising, problem-solving, and guest interaction, demonstrating both independent judgment and teamwork. The Valet Supervisor must be at least 21 years old and have 1-2 years of relevant valet or related experience. Licensing requirements include a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and completion of an Alcohol Awareness card.

Physically, the role is demanding with constant standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years valet experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Obtain and maintain Alcohol Awareness Card
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and balance for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to perform repetitive use of hands and feet
  • Good vision including distance, depth perception, and color vision.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years valet experience or related education, training, or experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform clerical, supervisory, and coordination tasks
  • Strong problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making skills
  • Ability to train and develop team members
  • Skilled in guest service and conflict resolution
  • Able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of safety and vehicle operation procedures
  • Good communication and memorization skills.

Job Duties

  • Oversee porte and valet operations to ensure exceptional guest service and minimize wait times
  • Pick or park vehicles only when wait times exceed 20 minutes or line extends significantly
  • Conduct daily pre-shift team meetings about events and critical information
  • Be visible at the porte to assist with and resolve guest escalations
  • Manage staff roles and rotations to ensure smooth operations and excellent service
  • Assist with scheduling and training alongside Front Services Manager and Lead Supervisor
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of drive lanes and crosswalks
  • Report maintenance issues, outages, and safety concerns promptly and follow up
  • Maintain car tracking system accuracy and proper vehicle entry
  • Manage team member breaks and staff levels to handle business needs
  • Provide guests with information about property facilities and services
  • Monitor and direct vehicle traffic including personal and commercial vehicles
  • Document all vehicle incidents such as damage, accidents, or theft
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain safety, security, and cleanliness in parking areas and porte
  • Act as Valet Runner as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
