This role is a part-time Parking Attendant position within the Parking Service Valet department, scheduled for 24 hours primarily on weekends from 5 pm to 5:30 am. The position is multifaceted, involving valet and shuttle responsibilities, although the primary duty will be valet. The Parking Attendant is often the first and last point of contact for visitors, patients, and associates, playing a crucial role in shaping their impression of the facility. The attendant ensures safe and efficient parking and transportation services, which are integral to the overall patient and visitor experience.

The Parking Attendant position demands professionalism and attentiveness, requiring the individual to manage shuttle operations safely, including assisting customers with mobility challenges using appropriate techniques and equipment like wheelchair lifts and tie-downs. Documentation and vehicle maintenance reporting are essential aspects of the shuttle responsibilities. On the valet side, the attendant greets customers warmly, assists them to their destination, parks vehicles safely after pre-inspecting for damages, and meticulously tracks vehicle information and financial transactions related to valet services. Maintaining cleanliness and order in parking and valet areas and enforcing policies such as smoking restrictions are also key duties.

Job Requirements

  • no degree or diploma required
  • valid driver’s license from department of motor vehicles
  • driving record with four points or less
  • ability to drive manual transmission vehicle
  • minimum two years customer service experience
  • availability to work part-time night shifts on weekends

Job Duties

  • greet all customers boarding the shuttle and provide friendly professional service
  • safely drive customers to their destination following all traffic laws
  • complete documentation including log sheets vehicle checklists accident reporting mileage and defect tracking
  • assist customers with mobility issues using wheelchair lift and tie-downs
  • keep shuttles clean and follow driver expectations such as two minute waits and shuttle stops
  • cover other parking functions including office shuttle booth or maintenance as needed
  • greet customers proactively discover their needs and assist to desired locations
  • assist customers out of their vehicles safely
  • park vehicles after pre-inspection record damages and return vehicles
  • track all vehicles and valet claim tickets accurately
  • keep entry and valet areas clean and clear of vehicles
  • monitor and enforce smoking policies in valet areas
  • record and track all financial transactions including voucher payments and refunds
