We are currently seeking a professional and dependable Valet to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless arrival and departure experience for our guests. The Valet will be responsible for opening the hotel’s main doors and assisting guests and visitors as they enter and exit the property. This includes helping with vehicle doors, greeting guests with genuine and warm acknowledgments, and providing fast, friendly, and professional service within 25 to 30 seconds of interaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of parking procedures and be adept at managing guest vehicle keys with detailed attention to tagging and verification. Operating both manual and automatic vehicles safely and efficiently is a primary responsibility, as well as providing guests with information about the hotel’s facilities, services, and special events.

In addition to driving and parking guest vehicles, the Valet will also play a significant role in monitoring traffic flow on the property, managing personal and commercial vehicle movement, and maintaining security of vehicles and belongings. This job demands excellent communication skills, a responsible attitude, and a focus on safety and cleanliness at all times. The position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends, to accommodate business needs. Candidates must be at least 19 years old and possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Compliance with alcohol awareness certification and adherence to safety protocols are also mandatory for this role.

This role is ideal for individuals with previous valet experience or those who have a combination of relevant education, training, or experience that equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge. Physical stamina and the ability to perform duties that involve standing, walking, lifting, and driving throughout the shift are essential. Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions is part of the daily work environment. Job Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with Alcohol Awareness Card
  • valid driver’s license and must produce acceptable driving record per GSR SOP from DMV annually to present to management to remain in position
  • able to stand, walk and occasionally sit, reach overhead, bend over, crouch, kneel, and balance during shift
  • able to push/pull and/or lift/carry 50lbs or less frequently and 75lbs or less occasionally
  • constant driving required
  • frequent use of both feet and hands with finger dexterity
  • use of vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision
  • flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • minimum 19 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • Previous valet experience or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts and employees at all levels of the company
  • ability of simple reading, writing, math, and task completion
  • skills in driving, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
  • flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate
  • must be a minimum of 19 years of age

Job Duties

  • Open hotel main doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving the property
  • assist guests with opening/closing vehicle doors
  • welcome guests and visitors with appropriate greetings of the day
  • acknowledge and greet guests within 25 to 30 seconds and provide professional, fast and friendly service
  • communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors
  • tag guest vehicle keys with date and time, registration number, make/model, room number or contact number of the guest
  • verify guests' ticket with the one attached to the key before handing over keys or vehicle to the guest
  • effectively park and retrieve guests' cars without causing damage to the vehicle
  • drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • provide guests with information regarding property facilities, amenities, services, special events
  • give fond farewell to all guests who are departing as per GSR standards
  • monitor and direct personal and commercial vehicle traffic on property, including guest vehicles, taxi cabs, limousines, buses and rideshare
  • maintain the security of vehicles, belongings inside the car and vehicle keys
  • follow up with guests to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction
  • document and report all vehicle incidents like damage, accidents, theft, missing articles etc.
  • report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor or manager
  • monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas, portico and in the key booth
  • re-route traffic when parking space reaches maximum capacity and ensure staff is informed
  • any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
