The position available is for a Hotel Bell Attendant who plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience from the moment they arrive. This full-time role involves greeting guests enthusiastically, assisting them with luggage handling, and escorting them to their rooms, all while embodying the brand's commitment to service excellence. The Bell Attendant will act as a positive ambassador of the hotel, offering insightful information about hotel services, local attractions, and amenities to ensure guests feel welcomed and well-informed.

Key responsibilities include safely managing guests' luggage, assisting with parking and transportation needs such as calling taxis, and maintaining the appearance and operational effectiveness of the check-in station and bellstand. The position requires handling operational paperwork, supervising group baggage transfers, and ensuring compliance with safety and security policies. In addition, the Bell Attendant is expected to support other departments by transporting boxes and supplies as needed and maintaining cleanliness and order in designated hotel areas.

This role demands a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Physical stamina is essential as duties involve standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and operating vehicles within company guidelines. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and meet specific driving and safety requirements, emphasizing professionalism and responsibility. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 25 years old to operate shuttle or drive guests
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate own or company vehicles other than shuttle
  • Minimum 3 years full-time verifiable similar vehicle driving experience
  • No positive drug or alcohol test including pre-employment, random, post-accident or reasonable suspicion
  • No more than 2 moving traffic violations in the previous 36 months
  • No speeding violations over 25 MPH above limit in the previous 36 months
  • No DUI conviction in the previous 5 years
  • No vehicular homicide, manslaughter, or assault
  • No operating vehicle with suspended or revoked license
  • No using a vehicle in commission of felony
  • No operating vehicle without owner’s permission
  • No reckless driving or speed contests
  • No leaving scene of accident with bodily injury or damage
  • No eluding a police officer
  • No operating a cell phone while driving violations
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
  • Ability to push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and stretch as needed
  • Must maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance according to company standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • 2-4 years of valet experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills in verbal, written, and electronic forms
  • Basic computer skills including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system and POS
  • Ability to handle guest inquiries with patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and meet company insurance requirements for vehicle operation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Welcome and escort guests to and from their rooms and assist with luggage
  • Inform guests of all safety features and promote outlets if time permits
  • Offer information about hotel services, facilities, points of interest, and entertainment attractions
  • Store guest luggage upon request and assist with loading and unloading luggage into automobiles
  • Call taxi for guests as requested
  • Prepare and maintain tour and delivery paperwork to uphold operational standards
  • Supervise group baggage transfers and amenity deliveries
  • Maintain the check-in station for appearance, organization, and effectiveness
  • Assist other departments by transporting boxes and supplies
  • Promote a positive working environment and follow employee handbook guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness of valet stand, driveway, bell closet, and bell carts
  • Safely operate guest vehicles from valet area to parking and return vehicles for guest pickup
  • Obey all traffic laws while operating vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
