The Valet Parking Attendant role at The Lodge at Torrey Pines plays a crucial part in shaping the first and lasting impressions for guests arriving at the resort. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Relevant experience or training of 3-12 months
  • Experience in hotel environment preferred
  • Unexpired and valid driver's license with no recent violations
  • Must be over 21 years of age
  • Ability to drive all vehicle types
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours or more while running to and from garage
  • Proficient in English with good communication skills
  • Must pass drug and alcohol screening, criminal background check, and DMV Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor under stress
  • Physical ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Compliance with California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et seq

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3-12 months of relevant experience or training
  • Experience in hotel environment preferred
  • Valid unexpired driver’s license with no recent violations
  • Must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes
  • Ability to drive all vehicle types
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English with good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, and positive attitude under stress
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Clear drug and alcohol screening, criminal background check, and a clean Motor Vehicle Report

Job Duties

  • Drives car to hotel garage adhering to all traffic regulations and speed limits using caution not to damage vehicles
  • Assesses any damage to vehicle clearly noting damage on claim ticket along with vehicle location when parked and stores and secures vehicle keys
  • Opens hotel doors for guests and offers verbal welcome when not parking or retrieving cars
  • Performs valet duties and parks vehicles in open spots
  • Assists waiting patrons and parks or retrieves their vehicles graciously
  • Quickly retrieves guests' cars in a timely manner
  • Drives company and guest vehicles safely
  • Projects a positive professional appearance and demeanor to guests
  • Assists in unpacking and organizing luggage and golf clubs
  • Provides secure and organized storage for guests' luggage and golf clubs temporarily
  • Informs guests about local activities and entertainment enthusiastically
  • Answers department telephone using professional etiquette
  • Schedules and arranges transportation services for guests
  • Collaborates with other hotel departments to meet guest needs promptly
  • Maintains a safe and secure environment by adhering to safety and emergency procedures
  • Assists with intake of vehicles and luggage, escorting guests, and delivering packages and room service
  • Undertakes other assigned responsibilities as directed
