Job Description
Advocate Health is the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, formed from the merger of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. This expansive network operates under multiple well-known names: Advocate Health Care in Illinois; Atrium Health in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama; and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin. The organization is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and serves nearly 6 million patients. Advocate Health is renowned nationally for its leadership in clinical innovation, health outcomes, consumer experience, and value-based care. The system is deeply invested in research and education, partnering with the Wake Forest University School of Medicine as its academic core, and is active in hundreds of clinical trials and research projects. With a workforce of approximately 155,000 teammates, Advocate Health spans 69 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations, and offers one of the nation’s largest graduate medical education programs, supporting over 2,000 residents and fellows across more than 200 programs. The organization is strongly committed to ensuring equitable care for all communities, demonstrating this commitment by providing more than $6 billion annually in community benefits.
This particular role is part of Advocate Health’s Non Enterprise Corporate Parking department and is a part-time position consisting of 20 hours per week, working a third shift schedule primarily on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 pm to 7:00 am. The pay range for this position is competitive, spanning from $18.85 to $28.30 per hour. The parking attendant serves a vital role in maintaining the smooth functioning of parking services at the medical center, offering exceptional hospitality to patients and guests. This position requires interaction with visitors to greet them with a friendly, helpful demeanor, ensuring a safe and clear environment for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The attendant is responsible for parking and retrieving vehicles promptly and safely, handling payment collection if needed, managing cash and keys, and operating golf carts as required.
The role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a cooperative and efficient work environment. Candidates must be proficient in basic math to accurately handle payments and deposits and should be physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods due to the nature of the duties. The position also involves exposure to environmental elements such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and smog, as well as potential exposure to vehicle fumes and blood-borne pathogens, so adherence to safety protocols is critical. A valid, unrestricted driver’s license is mandatory, along with a clean driving record for the past five years and the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles. Preference is given to applicants with Level I Qualified Spanish Bilingual Staff (QBS) certification.
Advocate Health is dedicated not only to competitive pay but also a comprehensive total rewards package designed to support employees’ well-being and career development. Employees in this role are eligible for premium pay components, including shift differentials and incentives, as well as opportunities for annual raises based on performance. Benefits include paid time off, multiple health and welfare benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability coverage. Employees can take advantage of flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses, family-oriented benefits such as adoption assistance and paid parental leave, retirement plans with employer matching, financial wellness programs, and educational assistance opportunities. These benefits highlight the organization’s commitment to its team members’ overall quality of life both at work and beyond.
