Advocate Health is a prominent nonprofit integrated health system recognized as the third-largest in the United States. Formed from the merger of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health, the organization delivers outstanding healthcare services across multiple states including Illinois, the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, and Wisconsin. The system operates under various names like Advocate Health Care in Illinois and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin, establishing a widespread footprint marked by clinical excellence and innovation. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Advocate Health serves nearly 6 million patients annually and participates actively in hundreds of clinical trials and research, collaborating closely with institutions such as Wake Forest University School of Medicine. This affiliation strengthens its role in advancing medical education and research. Advocate Health is nationally recognized for its specialized expertise in cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, rehabilitation, organ transplants, burn treatments, and musculoskeletal programs. Employing approximately 155,000 teammates across 69 hospitals with over 1,000 care locations, Advocate Health also manages one of the nation’s most extensive graduate medical education programs, supporting more than 2,000 residents and fellows through a diverse array of over 200 programs. Advocate Health is deeply committed to equitable healthcare, investing over $6 billion annually in community benefits, reflecting its dedication to comprehensive patient care and community support.
The role of a Parking Attendant within Advocate Health is a key hospitality position that focuses on delivering exceptional service to patients and guests. This full-time role, eligible for benefits, requires dedication to maintaining a safe and welcoming parking environment for a medical center. The schedule includes evening and overnight shifts on Tuesday through Friday, covering up to 40 hours weekly. The pay range is competitive, between $18.85 and $28.30 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role in supporting patient experience and operational efficiency.
Parking Attendants are responsible for greeting guests with a helpful and respectful demeanor, managing parking logistics, and maintaining a clear and safe area for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The position requires handling payments, securing cash and keys, and completing all necessary documentation accurately and timely. Additional responsibilities include driving golf carts as needed and adhering to all Medical Center standards to foster a cooperative and team-oriented workplace culture. The role demands excellent communication skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to assist all visitors effectively. Candidates must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle with a clean driving record for five years and hold a valid state driver’s license without restrictions. Spanish bilingual skills (Level I Qualified Spanish Bilingual Staff) are preferred, enhancing communication with diverse patient populations.
Physical demands include the ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods and manage physical tasks involving lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. The position operates in an environment exposed to vehicle fumes, weather variations including extreme heat and cold, and occasional risk of exposure to bloodborne diseases. Advocate Health values team members' safety and ensures they receive appropriate training and support to thrive in this environment.
Advocate Health's commitment extends beyond patient care to providing comprehensive benefits and reward programs designed to support the well-being, career development, and financial security of its employees. This includes competitive base pay with opportunities for annual performance-based increases, premium pay for shift differentials, paid time off, comprehensive health and welfare benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage. Employees are also supported through flexible spending accounts, adoption and parental leave assistance, retirement savings plans with employer matching, educational assistance programs, and other financial wellness initiatives.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare hospitality, looking to join a nationally respected health system dedicated to innovation, patient satisfaction, and community impact. Advocate Health offers a professional and supportive environment where team members are empowered to make a difference every day through their direct interactions with patients and guests, ensuring that the first and last impressions of the medical center are positive and welcoming.
