The Guest Service Associate role at Towne Park is an integral part of this mission where hospitality meets operational excellence. This position involves delivering attentive and friendly service while managing the safe parking and retrieval of guest vehicles. Guest Service Associates assist guests with their luggage, offer valuable information on the facility amenities and local area, and provide support throughout guests’ arrivals and departures. The role requires engaging with guests in a professional and courteous manner, including greeting guests promptly and using their last names to personalize interactions. Associates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility as they handle keys, issue claim checks, and manage revenue collection.
This position demands physical stamina as the majority of work occurs outdoors in varying weather conditions, and involves lifting and moving luggage and occasionally exerting considerable physical effort. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license for applicable state or commutable area
- One month related experience or training
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
- Basic mathematical skills including handling currency
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Ability to perform duties following established guidelines and procedures
- Ability to handle the physical demands of standing, walking, and running
- Commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state of employment or within commutable distance
- One month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of customer and personal services principles and processes
- Ability to read and write standard English
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using units of American money
- Ability to understand 24-hour and military time systems
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
- Ability to perform parallel parking
Job Duties
- Maintain pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients
- Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor, using guest last names
- Use salutation of the day and welcome guests to the location, practicing proper phone etiquette
- Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously
- Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed
- Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
- Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries
- Provide guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities, and local attractions
- Deliver messages, items, and/or guest amenities as requested
- Shuttle guests to approved locations
- Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival
- Issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks before issuing keys
- Complete and maintain all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey and claim check receipt
- Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed
