The Valet Driver role at SP Plus, based in Hudson Detroit, offers a dynamic opportunity for both full-time and part-time employment, with a competitive hourly wage of $18 plus tips. The position requires individuals to uphold the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. Valet Drivers are responsible for safely parking vehicles, managing client interactions, and ensuring an exceptional client experience. This role is essential to the company’s mission of delivering seamless mobility solutions and requires a valid Parking Valet Attendant License. Employees are expected to adhere to uniform standards and be reliable and punctual for all scheduled shifts, with availability across all shifts including special schedules such as second, third shifts, and weekends. Job Requirements

  • Obtain Parking Valet Attendant License
  • Availability to work all shifts including special shifts (2nd, 3rd shift and/or weekends)
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to handle cash and equipment regularly
  • Ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Provide a clean and complete uniform throughout the shift
  • Maintain punctuality and readiness for work at every scheduled shift
  • Comply with all safety regulations and traffic laws
  • Hold a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Provide legal documentation proving eligibility to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • A valid state driver’s license, current address, and acceptable driving record
  • The ability to safely drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (stick shift) is a plus
  • Availability to work special shifts if needed (2nd, 3rd shift and/or weekends)
  • Proof of eligibility to work legally in the U.S. (must provide valid documentation if hired)
  • The ability to provide accurate information to customers and co-workers and respond professionally to customer problems or complaints
  • The ability to read, write, add, and subtract US currency and comprehend instructions, short emails, and memos
  • The ability to follow written and verbal instructions and calmly adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events while working

Job Duties

  • Deliver on our promise by ensuring every moment matters for our clients through resolving client requests and concerns efficiently
  • Inspect every vehicle before safely parking it, noting all findings
  • Explain valet rates to customers
  • Observe traffic laws and safe driving practices
  • Report all accidents, safety hazards, unusual occurrences, and policy violations to management
  • Know the area's major streets, landmarks, and freeways to ensure customers have a seamless transportation experience
  • Come to work in your clean uniform every scheduled shift, on time, and ready to work
  • Remain in complete uniform for the entirety of your shift
  • Assist management with additional duties as assigned
