Job Description

HSHS (Hospital Sisters Health System) is a well-established healthcare organization that operates across Illinois and Wisconsin, serving communities through 13 hospitals, numerous community-based health centers, and clinics. With over 13,000 dedicated colleagues, HSHS has built a culture grounded in core values such as respect, care, competence, and joy. The organization’s history spans more than 145 years, during which it has continuously adapted and evolved, embracing the latest technologies and treatment methods to provide exceptional healthcare services. The driving force behind HSHS’s mission is the relentless focus on the patient, who remains the most important person in the entire system.

The Valet Driver role at HSHS is a vital part of the Support Services team. This position plays a key role in creating a positive first and last impression for patients and visitors by ensuring their vehicles and golf carts are operated, parked, and retrieved safely and efficiently. The Valet Driver’s responsibilities extend beyond vehicle handling; they provide essential assistance with directions and wayfinding on the premises, thereby enhancing the overall visitor experience. This role requires a professional who is not only skilled in driving but also dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service with a friendly and attentive attitude.

The candidate for the Valet Driver position must demonstrate a clear commitment to safety, reliability, and courteous interactions with patients, visitors, and staff. This is a part-time role, with scheduled weekly hours of 24, and offers a pay range between $16.00 and $21.60 per hour. The exact pay rate assigned to the successful candidate will depend on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and education levels.

In joining HSHS as a Valet Driver, you become part of a healthcare system that not only prioritizes patient care but also values the well-being of its colleagues. You will benefit from a supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and work-life balance, while contributing to a healthcare mission that has a far-reaching impact on community health and individual lives. The role offers the chance to be the welcoming face that shapes the first moments guests have at the healthcare facilities, thereby playing an indispensable role in the hospital experience.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), at least 18 years of age, and a minimum of one year operating a motor vehicle. A valid driver's license is mandatory. HSHS also provides a comprehensive benefits package, designed to support physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, and overall work health for colleagues budgeted to work at least 32 hours per pay period. Although this role is part-time, it may offer access to some of these benefits depending on scheduling and eligibility.

The Valet Driver will be a member of a competent and compassionate team committed to fostering an environment of joy and respect. HSHS's commitment to continuous improvement and innovation ensures that employees have access to the tools and support needed for success. By engaging with patients and visitors during their visits, the Valet Driver helps to uphold the reputation of HSHS as a patient-centered healthcare system, setting the tone for a caring and efficient care journey from the moment guests arrive until they depart.
