The open position is for a Guest Service Associate who plays a crucial role in providing exceptional hospitality services with a focus on guest satisfaction and vehicle safety. This role is a blend of customer service and operational duties where associates greet guests warmly, assist with luggage, and manage the parking and retrieval of vehicles efficiently and safely. It is a position that requires professionalism, friendliness, and a willingness to engage with guests personally by using their names and anticipating their needs, fostering a welcoming environment. This role typically works the PM shift, Monday through Sunday, and includes a base pay rate starting at $17.50 per hour with additional tips and a shift differential for overnight hours. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- valid driver's license for the state of employment or commutable area
- at least one month related experience or training
- ability to provide courteous and professional guest service
- good communication skills
- ability to read and write English
- physical ability to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently
- willingness to work PM shifts Monday through Sunday
- ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- availability to travel up to 5 percent
- able to follow established practices and procedures
- capable of performing parallel parking and manual transmission operation (highly desirable)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- must hold a valid driver's license for the state or within commutable distance
- one month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- ability to read and write standard English language
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds
- ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
- perform parallel parking
Job Duties
- Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients
- acknowledges and greets guests within five feet using guest last names during interactions
- uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location
- practices proper phone etiquette
- posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks
- parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously
- assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed
- opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
- assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries
- provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area
- delivers messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested
- shuttles guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location
- explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival
- issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys
- completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey and claim check receipt
- calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed
