Valets are responsible for the careful parking and handling of guest vehicles, ensuring safety and attention to detail by noting any vehicle damages, managing keys, and maintaining a meticulous log of all parked vehicles. In addition to vehicle management, valets also assist with coat check services and guest inquiries, promoting a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
This position requires physical stamina and dexterity, as well as the ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, adhering to company safety policies and motor vehicle regulations. Valets must communicate effectively in English and provide excellent service, including cash handling when collecting fees for valet parking. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of valet experience preferred
- Valid Illinois driver’s license and ability to operate manual and automatic transmission automobiles
- Understand and speak English
- Must be 18 years of age or over
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds occasionally
- Manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Ability to talk and hear regularly
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Adherence to company motor vehicle record (MVR) policy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of valet experience preferred
- Valid Illinois driver’s license required
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Duties
- Provide a high level of guest service and promote a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for guests and team members
- Ticket all incoming vehicles and survey guest vehicles indicating any damage on parking ticket
- Park all incoming vehicles in a safe and responsible manner
- Return keys to the valet booth and place keys on keyboard
- Pick up keys at the booth window or retrieve keys from keyboard
- Retrieve ticket from departing guest and notify the valet retrievers for pickup
- Retrieve all exiting vehicles in a safe and responsible manner
- Assist co-workers in clean up of areas assigned to valet
- Hang and retrieve coats in coat check
- Respond to guest inquiries, provide assistance, or direct to another area for information
- Accept cash for valet parking and make change for guests as needed
- Maintain a log of the number of cars parked and retrieved
- Exercise good judgment to notify the shuttle bus of pick-up or drop-off
- Promote superior guest service
- Perform other related duties as assigned
