As part of the greater Boston Harbor area, the resort features 671 spacious and elegantly designed hotel rooms, offering guests a premium lodging experience with modern amenities. The role of the Valet Attendant at Encore Boston Harbor is essential in delivering the property's renowned guest service experience. Valet Attendants are responsible for the efficient and courteous handling of guests' vehicles during their ingress and egress on the property, ensuring a smooth and flawless valet service. This position requires adherence to all Encore standards, including safety protocols, company policies, and gaming regulations, while maintaining an excellent guest and team member experience. The Valet Attendant operates various types of vehicles, including both automatic and manual transmission cars, and must follow all company security procedures to verify authorized access to vehicles. This role also involves handling cash responsibly, following designated ingress and egress processes, and contributing to departmental goals and operational improvements. Working in this position means balancing multiple priorities simultaneously, often in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, requiring a professional demeanor and outstanding interpersonal skills. Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or above
- Required to obtain and maintain registration or license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission
- Must have a Massachusetts driver’s license
- Ability to operate and park both automatic and stick shift vehicles
- Ability to follow company security and validation procedures
- Ability to handle cash responsibly
- Ability to work varying schedules reflecting business needs
- Ability to perform physical demands such as lifting or maneuvering at least fifty pounds
- Able to interact professionally with internal and external guests
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use Personal Protection Equipment
- Willingness to work in elevated places on ladders, lifts, catwalks, and staging inside and outside the building
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- Culinary arts, hospitality or a related education or experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from employees or guests
- Conversational English required, second language a plus
- Ability to write instructions
- Ability to present information
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request
Job Duties
- Ensure all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
- Participate in short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement
- Identify key drivers of success
- Actively contribute to departmental performance, accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures
- Follow all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Deliver and maintain maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction
- Follow all company security and validation procedures to ensure only authorized individuals or owners can access vehicles
- Follow the ingress and egress processes designed for the property
- Operate and park both automatic and stick shift vehicles
- Follow all cash handling procedures
- Work with safety as a priority and follow department and company safety standards
- Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
