The Guest Service Associate plays a pivotal role at Towne Park by delivering exceptional hospitality services in a friendly, attentive, and efficient manner, ensuring that every guest’s experience is welcoming and smooth. The primary responsibilities involve parking and retrieving guest vehicles safely while maintaining promptness and assisting guests with their luggage, including delivery and pick-up during arrival and departure phases where applicable. The associate also acts as the face of the company in customer interactions, greeting guests warmly, using professional etiquette including the use of guests' last names, and managing communications confidently. This role requires impeccable professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a customer-oriented mindset. Duties extend beyond vehicle handling to include assisting guests with directions, understanding and communicating parking rates and retrieval procedures, issuing claim checks, and managing ticket information accurately. The associate supports various guest requests including shuttle services to approved locations, and provides relevant information about local attractions, meeting rooms, and facility amenities to enhance the guest experience. Additionally, the role includes physical tasks such as operating vehicles cautiously, managing luggage, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. The associate must be capable of performing multiple physical activities including walking, standing, climbing stairs, lifting considerable weight, and using motor skills for manual vehicle operation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state or commutable distance
- One month related experience or training or equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge of customer and personal services principles
- Ability to read and write in standard English
- Ability to follow simple instructions and write correspondence
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Understanding of 24-hour and military time
- Understanding of applicable parking rates
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
- Ability to perform parallel parking
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 100 pounds
- Willingness to work extended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to travel up to 5%
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work or within a commutable distance
- One (1) month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- Ability to read and write standard English language
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
- Perform parallel parking
Job Duties
- Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients
- Acknowledges and greets guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Uses guest last names during interactions
- Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location
- Practices proper Towne Park phone etiquette
- Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously
- Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed
- Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
- Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries
- Provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area
- Delivers messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested
- Shuttles guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location
- Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival
- Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys
- Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey and claim check receipt from all vehicles taken into the valet system
- Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed
