The Guest Service Associate role at Towne Park is a vital position focused on creating a welcoming and hospitable environment for guests. This role involves parking and retrieving guest vehicles safely and efficiently while providing a high level of customer service. The individual filling this position will greet and assist guests with their luggage, offer directions, facilitate taxi and shuttle services, and provide valuable information about local amenities and attractions. The Associate helps ensure a smooth parking experience for guests by managing claim checks, processing payments, and maintaining detailed records of vehicles under valet care. Physical demands include occasional heavy lifting up to 100 pounds and requiring attention to detail and courteous communication skills. This position is primarily outdoors and may involve working in varying weather conditions. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state or commutable distance
- One month related experience or equivalent education and experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to safely drive and park vehicles
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to follow established procedures and guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state or within a commutable distance
- One month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- Ability to read and write standard English language
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
- Ability to perform parallel parking
Job Duties
- Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with guests, co-workers, and clients
- Acknowledges and greets guests within five feet using guest last names
- Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location
- Practices proper Towne Park phone etiquette
- Posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks
- Parks and retrieves vehicles safely while driving slowly and cautiously
- Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed
- Opens vehicle and hotel doors for guests
- Provides guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries
- Offers information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities of the facility, and area attractions
- Delivers messages, items and guest amenities as requested
- Shuttles guests to approved places
- Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures upon guest arrival
- Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks before issuing keys
- Completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey and claim check receipt
- Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed
