Job Description

Valet Park of America is a reputable and rapidly growing company specializing in valet parking services across various locations, including Hartford, CT. Known for its commitment to high-quality customer service, Valet Park of America prides itself on fostering a positive company culture and providing ample opportunities for employee growth and advancement. With a focus on employee well-being, the company offers numerous incentive programs, scholarship opportunities, and a supportive work environment where management actively engages with staff at all levels. This dedication not only helps the company maintain its growth trajectory in a competitive economy but also ensures that employees feel valued and respected as part of the team.

Valet Park of America is currently seeking part-time and full-time Valet Attendants to join their team in Hartford, CT. This role is ideal for candidates looking for flexible scheduling, whether as a primary job or a supplementary income alongside school or another part-time job. The position offers a competitive pay structure, including a base rate starting at $16.94 per hour plus tips, with the potential to earn between $22 and $27 per hour or more from the start. Valet Attendants at VPA enjoy benefits such as weekly payroll, quarterly newsletters, and the chance to be promoted from within, contributing to a dynamic and engaging work environment.

The primary responsibility of a Valet Attendant at Valet Park of America is to provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers promptly and professionally. Attendants are tasked with parking customer vehicles safely and efficiently, then quickly returning to their station to assist the next patron. This role requires a high level of physical activity, including standing for the entire shift, running or jogging to retrieve vehicles multiple times per day, and frequently entering and exiting customers' vehicles. Attendants must also be capable of lifting items such as wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, baggage, and gifts to assist customers effectively.

Working as a Valet Attendant involves spending most of the shift outdoors, regardless of weather conditions, which can include heat, cold, or precipitation. Despite these challenges, employees are expected to maintain a high quality of service throughout their shifts. To be considered for this position, candidates must meet several key requirements: they must be over 18 years old due to laws about operating heavy machinery, have experience in customer service, and possess a valid Class D driver’s license held for at least one year. Driving a standard transmission vehicle is also necessary, with training available in some cases, and having reliable personal transportation is required.

The company enforces a 30-day trial period for new hires, during which performance is closely monitored. New employees will undergo four training shifts during which they will be compensated with a higher pay rate but will not receive tips. Valet Park of America is an equal opportunity employer, ensuring fair treatment and hiring practices for all applicants. Additionally, all employees must pass a criminal background check and be willing to work on weekends and holidays as needed. A neat appearance and a positive attitude are crucial aspects of the company’s work culture, aligning with their emphasis on excellent customer interaction and team cooperation.

Joining Valet Park of America as a Valet Attendant offers a rewarding career path with a company that values its employees and continues to grow despite economic challenges. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused role and want to be part of a supportive team with opportunities for advancement, this position could be a perfect fit.
