Job Description
Valet Park of America (VPA) is a well-established valet parking service company based in Springfield, Massachusetts. Since 1990, VPA has been delivering exceptional valet services to a variety of prestigious locations throughout Western Massachusetts. This company has built a reputation on reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, making it one of the leading valet services in the region. VPA prides itself on fostering a positive company culture that values each employee and promotes management opportunities from within, ensuring a supportive and growth-oriented work environment. The company’s dedication extends beyond its clients to include employees and community involvement, which is reflected in its numerous employee benefits and incentive programs, company outings, and scholarship opportunities. VPA offers a work atmosphere where every employee, from entry-level attendants to management, feels recognized and valued through direct interaction and a family-like company culture.
The role being offered is for a Full-Time Valet Parking Attendant in the Springfield, MA area. This position requires an individual who is available primarily Monday through Friday from around 7 AM to 5 PM, with additional shifts on nights and weekends. Candidates should have mostly open availability to fulfill these shifts, though detailed scheduling needs can be discussed during the interview process. The attendant’s main responsibilities will include greeting and assisting customers, safely parking their vehicles, and promptly returning to their station to aid the next customer. This fast-paced role requires standing for at least eight hours per day, running multiple times between parking and stations, and handling various customer belongings such as strollers and luggage. Valet attendants must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a neat appearance, and a positive attitude.
Compensation includes a base pay rate plus tips, with potential earnings starting between $17 and $20 or more per hour depending on shift busyness. VPA provides weekly payroll options including direct deposit, pay cards, or traditional checks, along with the opportunity for overtime and career advancement. Training for new hires consists of four shifts during which attendants will receive a higher pay rate but no tips. The role requires all valet attendants to be capable of driving standard transmission vehicles, with training available if needed, and to possess a valid Class D driver’s license held for at least one year. The job involves outdoor work in all weather conditions, requiring resilience and professionalism regardless of temperature or precipitation.
VPA is committed to an inclusive hiring process and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Candidates must undergo a criminal background check, have their driving records approved, and be available for weekend and holiday work when necessary. The company maintains a 30-day trial period to ensure the employee meets performance standards. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in customer service, hospitality, retail, transportation, or security, and the company also accommodates flexible hours for parents and part-time workers. Veterans and active military personnel are warmly encouraged to apply, reflecting VPA’s respect and appreciation for service members.
