Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean drivers abstract and Hawaii driver's license
- Ability to grasp, lift and carry packages over 50 pounds
- Ability to load and unload luggage
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit to perform job functions
- Hearing and visual ability to detect emergency situations
- Ability to perform bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Considerable knowledge of city and surrounding areas
Job Qualifications
- No prior experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean drivers abstract and Hawaii driver's license
- Ability to lift and carry packages and luggage over 50 pounds
- Sufficient manual dexterity to load and unload luggage
- Ability to effectively deal with customers requiring patience and diplomacy
- Ability to read and write English to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit to perform job functions
- Hearing and visual ability to observe signs of emergency situations
- Knowledge of hotel facilities and nearby local attractions
- Preferred prior guest service or hospitality experience
- Preferred prior valet experience
Job Duties
- Assist hotel customers with parking requests, issuing claim tickets and explaining parking rates and options
- Immediately take and retrieve vehicles to and from the parking garage
- Carefully operate customers' vehicles ensuring no damage is caused
- Maintain driveway traffic flow to allow entrance accessibility
- Greet guests with a friendly and sincere welcome
- Assist Doorman in opening car doors
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding hotel features and parking
- Provide luggage assistance with Bellman
- Answer entrance telephone and provide accurate information
- Maintain alert and attentive demeanor during busy periods
- Communicate guest parking procedures and costs
- Perform additional duties such as assisting as Bellhelp
