We are currently seeking a dedicated Valet Attendant to join our team at the Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $17 per hour with flexible shift opportunities from Monday through Friday, ensuring work-life balance for our employees. The Valet Attendant is a pivotal member of our service team, entrusted with safely and efficiently parking and retrieving guest vehicles while ensuring a high level of customer service. In this position, the Valet Attendant manages the entire valet service process beginning with the warm greeting of guests on arrival. They retrieve keys, issue tickets, and accurately document customer information through electronic devices. A core responsibility is the safe movement and parking of vehicles, which requires attention to detail to avoid damage and maintain proper placement. Attendants are also trained to inspect vehicles for any preexisting damage and document these findings meticulously.
Customer service is at the heart of this role. Valet Attendants build rapport and respond promptly to inquiries or requests, providing assistance or directions when necessary. They act as professional brand ambassadors who enhance guests’ first and lasting impressions by offering courteous interactions such as opening vehicle doors and assisting with personal belongings. Safety and security are critical, with attendants overseeing traffic flow, positioning barricades, monitoring parking areas, and coordinating towing when needed.
The position demands a high level of operational responsibility and communication. Valet Attendants handle valet fees, reconcile revenue at shift end, and promptly report any incidents or claims to management. This role engages with guests, clients, supervisors, and teammates professionally at all times, ensuring a seamless service experience.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and customer service skills, quick adaptability, sound decision-making abilities, and physical stamina. Previous experience as a valet and the ability to operate manual transmission vehicles are preferred but not mandatory. The Valet Attendant role requires frequent walking or running during shifts, and occasional lifting of customer luggage up to 50 pounds, all performed in variable weather conditions and dynamic, fast-paced settings.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license with good driving records
- Must successfully pass a background check in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation verifying eligibility as required by the Department of Homeland Security
- Participate in the E-Verify program to confirm employment eligibility
Job Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to communicate with guests
- Ability to learn quickly and use sound decision making to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Ability to operate guest vehicles requiring normal coordination including eye-hand hand-foot
- Ability to move from valet stand to customer cars by walking or running for extended period of time sometimes for the entire duration of shift
- Previous valet experience preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles (stick shift)
Job Duties
- Coordinate the full valet service process from arrival to departure including greeting guests retrieving keys issuing tickets and entering customer information via electronic devices
- Park and retrieve guest vehicles safely and efficiently ensuring proper vehicle placement and accurate tracking of vehicle location
- Inspect vehicles for preexisting damage and document findings using electronic or manual ticketing systems
- Deliver exceptional customer service by building rapport responding promptly to inquiries and providing directions or assistance as needed
- Act as a professional brand ambassador by courteously interacting with guests opening vehicle doors and assisting with unloading and loading personal items
- Maintain vehicle safety and security by directing traffic positioning barricades monitoring ramp or drive areas and arranging towing services when required
- Request collect and accurately process applicable valet fees assist with reconciling end-of-shift revenue and ticket distribution
- Retrieve vehicles promptly for waiting guests and assist with luggage or personal items when necessary
- Immediately report incidents accidents or claims to the Operations Manager or Shift Lead
- Communicate professionally and effectively with guests clients supervisors and teammates at all times
