The Parking Attendant position at Advocate Health is a full-time role within the 11601 Non Enterprise Corporate - Parking Department, offering a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 6 pm, with a competitive hourly pay range between $18.85 and $28.30. The primary responsibilities of the Parking Attendant include providing exceptional hospitality service to patients and guests by greeting them with a helpful and caring demeanor and ensuring a safe, clear environment for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The role involves parking and retrieving vehicles promptly yet safely and assisting guests with directions, helping them in and out of vehicles, and offering wheelchairs as needed. Essential functions also include collecting payments securely, completing all required documentation accurately, and adhering to Medical Center standards to promote a cooperative work environment through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork. The job further requires the ability to drive a golf cart and the flexibility to perform other duties as assigned by management.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid state driver’s license with no restrictions, and a clean driving record for the past five years. The ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle is also essential; bilingual Spanish skills at Level I Qualified Spanish Bilingual Staff (QBS) are preferred. Strong communication skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment are key competencies for this role. Candidates should also be capable of standing or walking for extended periods and have basic math skills for processing payments.
