Job Description
This position is offered by a community-oriented senior living establishment dedicated to providing exceptional services and a welcoming environment to its residents and guests. The organization prides itself on delivering a safe, courteous, and friendly atmosphere where the needs of its community members are met with professionalism and genuine care. As a senior living community, it focuses on creating lasting impressions through attentive service, ensuring that every interaction contributes positively to the overall resident experience. The community actively supports accessibility and inclusive practices, making it a progressive and compassionate workplace that values each individual's contributions and needs.
The role of the valet and concierge assistant is pivotal within this senior living community. This position involves interacting with residents, guests, and staff in a warm and courteous manner, which is fundamental to the community's commitment to hospitality and excellent service. Core responsibilities include assisting residents with valet and parking services, managing mail and package deliveries, and covering the concierge desk duties when needed. Flexibility is essential as the role requires multitasking and adapting to various duties such as scheduling transportation services, taking dining requests, submitting maintenance work orders, and aiding in event coordination. This requires a candidate who is friendly, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive demeanor.
In addition to front-line guest and resident service, this role ensures the safety and smooth operation of parking logistics by safely retrieving and parking vehicles. Understanding and explaining valet parking procedures to guests highlights the communicative aspect of the position. Moreover, the position plays an instrumental role during events, assisting with setup and breakdown, which accentuates the importance of teamwork and operational support.
Performing light clerical tasks and back-up responsibilities for call answering further underlines the need for strong organizational and communication skills in this role. A key part of the daily routine involves monitoring emergency response systems and fire alarm panels during daytime hours, highlighting the importance of situational awareness and safety compliance in the senior living environment.
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but requires an individual who can work independently and with initiative. The company promotes equal opportunity employment and complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act by providing reasonable accommodations, ensuring an accessible and supportive environment for all employees. A valid driver’s license and experience in customer service, preferably within a senior living or similar hospitality environment, are essential qualifications for this role.
In summary, this valet and concierge assistant position is ideal for someone who values service excellence, enjoys interacting with diverse populations, and can adeptly juggle multiple duties in a dynamic senior living setting. It offers an opportunity to contribute positively to a caring community while developing broad-based skills in hospitality, safety, and administration.
