With annual revenues nearing $8 billion and more than 100,000 team members located in over 350 offices worldwide, ABM is recognized for its commitment to excellence and innovation in the facility services industry. Its extensive array of services covers janitorial, engineering, parking management, electrical and lighting, energy solutions, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical operations, landscape and turf care, as well as mission-critical solutions.
As an employer, ABM prides itself on fostering an inclusive, equal opportunity workplace, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, or veteran status. The company provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program to ensure employment eligibility. ABM is recognized as a military-friendly employer, actively encouraging veterans and candidates with military backgrounds to apply and offering post-military career opportunities supported by world-class training programs.
The Valet position at ABM is designed for individuals entering or returning to the workforce, offering a gateway for those with limited experience and education to build a rewarding career in guest services. This role requires the valet to provide professional, courteous, and compassionate service to guests, ensuring a positive and seamless parking experience. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $19.50, with work hours typically Monday through Friday, variable between 8 am and 5 pm.
Responsibilities include coordinating the flow of traffic and effectively communicating valet procedures, directions, and information to guests. The valet must interact with guests in a friendly manner, assist with loading and unloading, collect and secure keys, and monitor parking compliance, handling violations promptly. Key operational tasks involve predicting traffic flow peaks, managing wait times by arranging additional support, and administering the tip pool with accuracy. The role demands safe operation, parking, and retrieval of all vehicles while adhering to traffic laws, facility policies, and pedestrian regulations. Additionally, valets are expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain cleanliness in their work area.
Beyond the guest-facing duties, the position includes routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing floors and surfaces, emptying trash and recycling bins, maintaining cleaning equipment, and reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors. Valets must follow all safety procedures related to cleaning and sanitation to uphold ABM's standards for a safe and healthy environment.
This role is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, possessing a valid driver’s license, and potentially some prior experience in janitorial or custodial roles. A strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, effective time management skills, and familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals are important for success. Overall, the valet position at ABM offers a blend of customer service excellence, operational responsibility, and maintenance tasks, contributing to the company's mission of improving spaces where people live, work, and play.
