Job Description

Glen Oaks Country Club is a prestigious and award-winning gated community and country club located in West Des Moines, Iowa. Established in 1991, Glen Oaks is renowned for its exceptional amenities and services, and was proudly named the number one golf course in the state of Iowa by Golf Digest. Spanning 532 acres, Glen Oaks offers not only a stunning 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed golf course but also a welcoming clubhouse, resort-style aquatics park, patio bar and ice cream shoppe, custom culinary offerings created by an on-site Executive Chef, and a modern fitness center with services from an on-site personal trainer. The community is designed for an intimate group of friends and families who appreciate a lifestyle rich in quality, tradition, and unparalleled amenities.

The role of Valet at Glen Oaks Country Club is a crucial frontline position designed to ensure the best possible guest experience for Members and their Guests. The Valet is responsible for greeting guests genuinely and warmly as the first point of contact at the Club's main entrance. This role requires maintaining an atmosphere of hospitality and professionalism while providing essential services such as parking vehicles safely, assisting guests in and out of their cars, and managing coat check room utilization. Additionally, the Valet delivers ToGo dinners to Members within the gated community and facilitates pick-up food deliveries to members upon arrival.

The position follows a schedule of 4-9 PM Tuesday through Saturday and 10 AM to 2 PM on Sundays, with potential for additional shifts based on business needs. Weekend and holiday availability is essential given the Club's operating hours and member occupancy patterns. The Valet must be physically capable of long periods of standing and walking, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and adept at managing sometimes stressful situations with calmness and respect. A core focus of the role involves ensuring the club’s entryways remain clean and safe, operating vehicles responsibly, and contributing to an overall organized and welcoming environment.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Club Managers (ACMs) and the Clubhouse Manager, the Valet plays an integral role in the day-to-day success of Glen Oaks Country Club's guest services. This position not only enhances the member and guest experience through personalized service but also supports the club’s upscale and community-oriented ethos. Working as a Valet at Glen Oaks provides a unique opportunity to be part of an award-winning establishment that prides itself on tradition, service excellence, and exceptional recreational amenities. Employees can expect a supportive work environment with diverse responsibilities that promote interpersonal engagement and operational precision.
