Job Description

This leading healthcare institution is committed to providing exceptional patient care combined with a welcoming and supportive environment not only for patients but also for visitors and staff. As a vital part of the hospital's hospitality team, the valet parking services are designed to enhance the overall experience by offering efficient, friendly, and courteous assistance with vehicle parking and retrieval. With a focus on safety, professionalism, and compassionate service, the hospital aims to ensure that each visitor feels valued and well taken care of from the moment they arrive on campus.

The Valet Parking Attendant role is an on-call (PRN) position within this healthcare setting, emphasizing flexibility and reliability for those who want to contribute to patient and visitor satisfaction on a variable schedule. The attendant works under the direction and supervision of the MHS Manager or Team Lead/Lane Captain to maintain a seamless and efficient parking process. Responsibilities include operating vehicles safely, providing courteous and professional service, assisting patients and visitors with their belongings, and ensuring that parking operations comply with hospital policies as well as all traffic and safety regulations. This position requires not only a passion for customer service and attention to detail but also physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

In this important role, the Valet Parking Attendant will be the initial point of contact for patients and guests arriving at the hospital, setting a welcoming tone through their friendly demeanor and helpful assistance. They will be responsible for documenting vehicle condition prior to parking to avoid disputes or damage claims, carefully recording parking spot locations, informing visitors about parking rates and retrieval processes, and responding promptly to any incidents or emergencies according to hospital guidelines. Strict adherence to confidentiality standards such as HIPAA is essential to protect patient and visitor privacy.

Candidates considered for this role must have at least three years of driving experience, must be able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, and are required to possess a valid driver's license without restrictions. The ability to communicate effectively in English, demonstrate professionalism, and pass background and drug screenings are also mandatory. Additionally, the role demands physical capability to lift heavy items, assist with wheelchairs, and stand or walk for extended periods while sometimes working in challenging weather conditions.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy dynamic work environments, take pride in delivering outstanding customer service, and value a role that directly supports the patient experience in a healthcare context. By joining the hospital’s valet team, attendants contribute to a smooth and pleasant arrival and exit process, helping the hospital maintain its reputation for excellence across all aspects of service delivery.
