Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership position preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to delegate
- Commitment to food safety and quality standards
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sous chef or relevant kitchen leadership role
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coach and mentor culinary team members
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with recipe development and food presentation
Job Duties
- Train all associates in kitchen job duties including plate presentation and display work
- Write schedules, evaluate, and direct all personnel
- Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
- Write and present disciplinary actions as necessary
- Provide associates with tools and equipment needed for their jobs
- Take immediate action on kitchen problems
- Participate in department meetings, staff meetings, kitchen meetings, kitchen inventory, and MOD program
- Ensure all food is high quality, prepared according to recipe, and expedited efficiently
- Assist in setting goals, standards, and objectives for the organization
- Supervise kitchen and sanitation staff in the Executive Chef's absence
- Maintain records such as use records, roast meat charts, and recipe cards
- Prepare recipe cards and picture presentations for all menu items
- Submit payroll hours to Accounting Department on time
