With a robust menu designed to satisfy diverse tastes, Goop Kitchen offers comforting, flavor-packed dishes including bowls, salads, handhelds, rotisserie chicken, and pizzas, all crafted without the use of refined sugars or processed ingredients. The role of Utility/Line Chef at Goop Kitchen is integral to maintaining the high standards that define the brand. This position involves preparing a wide variety of dishes including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and more, all strictly according to established recipes and Goop Kitchen's exacting culinary standards. The Utility/Line Chef expertly utilizes various cooking methods such as broiling, grilling, and baking using state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. Responsibility for the quality and consistency of the dishes rests squarely with the chef in this role, making it essential to master recipes for all kitchen stations and ensure uniform compliance with portion control, cooking techniques, quality benchmarks, and internal policies. This includes meticulous portioning prior to cooking, proper plate presentation, and garnish setup to deliver an outstanding visual and taste experience for every meal.

Maintaining rigorous standards of kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, alongside upholding company safety and food handling protocols, is a non-negotiable part of the Utility/Line Chef’s duties. This dedication safeguards both employee health and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the chef monitors the maintenance and condition of kitchen equipment, promptly alerting management to any needs for repair or replacement to ensure seamless kitchen operations. Supplementary tasks may also be assigned as necessary, demanding flexibility and a proactive approach. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in culinary training or experience working as a line cook, prep cook or similar role
  • Knowledge of food safety and food handling procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of dishes ranging from meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other items using the restaurant’s established recipes
  • Prepare dishes by cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, and a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Assume responsibility for quality of products served
  • Master recipes for all kitchen stations
  • Comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
  • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
  • Handle, store and rotate all products properly
  • Always maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • Uphold company safety and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our employees
  • Evaluate maintenance of all kitchen equipment and notify management if there is a need for new or replacement equipment
  • Adhere to all kitchen safety protocols and sanitation standards
  • Perform supplementary tasks as deemed necessary for the role
