The Utility Worker position at Sodexo, located at Clark Atlanta University, is a full-time role paying $15.50 per hour. This critical position supports kitchen and facility operations by ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout food production and service areas. The work schedule involves varying shifts with days and hours that require open availability, allowing the team to meet operational demands efficiently. The role includes hands-on responsibilities such as washing dishes by hand or using dishwashing machines, cleaning and sanitizing work areas including tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks, as well as floor care like sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Additionally, the Utility Worker manages trash removal, restocks supplies such as soap and paper towels, and operates cleaning equipment using specific chemicals to maintain sanitary standards.

Physical stamina and mobility are essential for this position, as it demands significant walking or movement throughout the shift, which may exceed eight hours. The ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds, is required. Punctuality and dependable attendance are vital to fulfilling the duties reliably. While no prior work experience is necessary, a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, alongside a basic understanding of sanitation procedures and food safety concepts.
