Job Description
SSP is a leading global operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations. We specialize in providing high-quality dining options across airports, railway stations, and other travel hubs worldwide. Our mission is to deliver exceptional customer experiences through a combination of great food, excellent service, and inviting environments. At SSP, we understand the dynamic nature of the travel industry and strive to exceed guest expectations, ensuring convenience and satisfaction at every touchpoint. Our presence inside the CID Airport places us at a vital junction for travelers, offering a variety of food services tailored to meet the fast-paced and diverse needs of airport passengers. We are committed to fostering a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all employees.
We are currently seeking motivated and dedicated Utility Workers to join our team at our restaurants located within the CID Airport. This position offers both full-time and part-time shifts, providing flexibility to accommodate different schedules. The hourly wage is competitively set at $18.00, with immediate hiring available for qualified candidates. Employees in this role also benefit from 2 weeks of paid time off, along with promising advancement opportunities within the company.
The Utility Worker position is integral to maintaining the quality and hygiene standards of our restaurant operations, directly contributing to an outstanding guest experience. In this role, the Utility Worker is responsible for ensuring clean and sanitary work and dining areas, which include floors, walls, windows, kitchen equipment, and service counters. This helps create a welcoming environment where guests feel comfortable and satisfied throughout their visit.
Key responsibilities include clearing and resetting tables efficiently between seatings, assisting with the cleanup of dishes and kitchenware by hand or machine, and properly storing cleaned equipment. Utility Workers also handle waste management by removing refuse to designated areas, ensuring overall cleanliness, and complying with food safety standards by using specified chemicals and methods. The role may occasionally require the use of heavy cleaning equipment in order to maintain the highest level of sanitation essential in a busy airport dining setting.
Beyond cleaning duties, Utility Workers assist guests with specific requests, communicate special needs to servers and supervisors, and support the overall flow by loading and unloading supply trucks, managing inventory, and monitoring food quality by stocking, dating, rotating, and checking temperatures. This comprehensive scope of work enables smooth restaurant operations and contributes directly to customer satisfaction.
Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old, with six months of experience in retail or food service environments and preferably have a high school diploma. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential to interact effectively with guests and team members. Additionally, candidates must possess a food handler's permit as required by local laws, and brand certification may be necessary. The physical demands include the ability to stand for long periods and work in confined spaces.
SSP is deeply committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and motivated. We firmly believe that a diverse team enhances innovation and guest service, and we actively promote equality and prevent discrimination in all our practices. These principles are foundational to our corporate culture and drive our engagement with communities and customers alike. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, genders, races, religions, disabilities, sexual identities, and orientations, ensuring a welcoming environment for all those interested in joining our team.
