The Utility Worker position at Sodexo, located at Union Adventist University, offers either full-time or part-time employment with a pay range of $15.00 to $17.00 per hour. Candidates can expect varying work shifts, with open availability preferred, to support the dynamic needs of the university’s kitchen and facility operations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within food production and service areas, ensuring a safe, hygienic environment for both staff and clients. As a Utility Worker, your duties will include cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage areas; transporting and organizing supplies; and assisting with basic set-up and break-down tasks during operations. The position demands physical stamina, as workers must be capable of standing or walking for long periods and lifting moderately heavy objects safely.

Job Duties

  • Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine
  • cleans and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks
  • sweeps, mops, cleans, and vacuums floors
  • removes trash and garbage to designated areas
  • cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards
  • re-stocks supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials
  • assists with basic set-up and break-down tasks as directed
