SSP America is a leading operator of food and beverage outlets found primarily in travel locations such as airports, railway stations, and bus terminals throughout North America. We are currently hiring for Utility positions at SSP America based at Spokane International Airport. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our restaurant units. Utility employees play a critical role in ensuring all dining and preparation areas are sanitary and well-maintained, contributing to the overall positive customer experience. The Utility position involves a variety of responsibilities, including cleaning all surfaces and equipment such as floors, ceilings, walls, windows, worktables, grills, refrigerators, and more. The role also entails waste management, clearing and resetting tables, washing dishes and kitchen tools either by hand or using dishwashers, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is sanitized using proper chemical agents. Additionally, Utilities assist guests with specific requests and communicate any special needs to supervisors or servers, ensuring seamless service delivery.

Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- authorization to work in the United States
- ability to understand and follow instructions
- good interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in cleaning or sanitation roles is beneficial
- ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- good communication skills to assist guests and coordinate with team members
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to perform physically demanding tasks
- positive attitude and strong work ethic
Job Duties
- create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
- maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas
- remove refuse to designated areas
- clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings and transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
- scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place
- clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards which may include the use of heavy equipment
- assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server or supervisor
- load and unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
- stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
- perform other duties as assigned
