Job Description

Hilton Chicago is a prestigious, iconic hotel nestled along the renowned Michigan Avenue, placing guests in the heart of Chicago’s vibrant cultural and entertainment district. Just steps away from Grant Park, Lake Michigan, and the Museum Campus, Hilton Chicago offers easy access to Soldier Field events, Chicago’s famous festivals, and the thriving dining, nightlife, and arts scene of the nearby Pilsen neighborhood. As part of the globally recognized Hilton brand, the hotel embodies the hospitality giant’s commitment to excellence, making it a top choice for travelers seeking a memorable stay in Chicago. The hotel prides itself not only on its outstanding amenities and prime location but also on fostering an inspiring and inclusive workplace culture for its team members.

The Utility Steward/Dishwasher role at Hilton Chicago plays a critical part in the smooth operation of the hotel's food and beverage services, especially in high-volume periods. This position demands an energetic and bright team player who brings at least one year of relevant experience working as a Utility Steward in a bustling hotel environment. Working predominantly the evening shift from 6 PM to 1 AM with flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and mornings, the Utility Steward is essential to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and dining areas.

This role goes beyond simply cleaning and maintaining serviceware; it is instrumental in delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuring that all service items are spotless and ready for use at all times. The Utility Steward is responsible for scrubbing pots, pans, and silverware, monitoring stock levels to guarantee seamless service, and supporting the setup of banquets and special events. Embracing Hilton’s core values of hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and focus, the Utility Steward contributes importantly to the warmth and light that Hilton Chicago extends to its guests each day.

Teamwork is a key element of this role, as the Utility Steward will also train and mentor new team members, instilling best practices and enhancing overall team performance. Strict compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations is mandatory to safeguard both guest and team member well-being. By becoming part of Hilton Chicago’s team, the Utility Steward not only advances their career in hospitality but also becomes integral to an award-winning workplace culture known for its dedication to creating a positive, supportive environment.

With Hilton’s commitment to its employees’ growth and well-being, this role offers much more than a job—it offers a career pathway. Hilton provides comprehensive benefits, including remarkable travel perks through the Go Hilton program, financial investment opportunities through employee stock purchase, paid parental leave, personalized caregiving and crisis support, mental health resources, generous paid time off, and a range of health and welfare benefits to promote holistic well-being. By joining Hilton Chicago as a Utility Steward, candidates step into a dynamic role that directly impacts guest satisfaction while benefiting from a workplace that values their contributions and personal growth.
