The company has built a reputation for creating sustainable residential and commercial properties that foster thriving environments for people to live and work. Their portfolio includes some of the world’s most innovative and efficient buildings, symbolizing their commitment to pioneering green building practices and creating value for tenants and partners alike.

Located at One World Trade Center, the Durst Organization continues its mission in supporting community and tenant satisfaction through operational excellence. The role we are presenting is a Utility Porter position within the Building Services team. This is a Local 32BJ union position offering a salary range of $24.036 to $32.048 per hour and is eligible for overtime pay consistent with the union's collective bargaining agreement. The work schedule includes a Saturday to Wednesday shift from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Thursdays and Fridays off.

In this role, the Utility Porter will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in designated areas to ensure a positive experience for tenants and guests. The position involves a variety of custodial and physical tasks including heavy labor such as moving and pushing trash, operating freight elevators, and handling specialized equipment safely. The porter will also be responsible for pantry maintenance, lavatory cleaning, floor care including scrubbing, mopping, and buffing, rubbish collection and disposal following proper protocols. This role demands a high level of physical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in upholding the high standards of the building’s environment and safety regulations. The role not only requires technical custodial skills but also excellent communication to follow work directions, respond to tenant requests, and operate two-way radios to stay connected with supervisors and other team members. The worker should be comfortable with the physical demands including lifting up to 75 pounds, bending, crawling, and working in environments with exposure to dust and chemical fumes.

The Durst Organization values employees who embody its mission of delivering superior service to tenants and partners. They are committed to equal opportunity employment, welcoming qualified veterans and individuals with disabilities, and providing reasonable accommodations. This is an excellent opportunity for those with prior custodial or building maintenance experience looking to join a prestigious and sustainable real estate company that honors its historical legacy and looks toward continued innovation and community enhancement.
