Job Description
Novolex is a prominent manufacturer specializing in food, beverage, and specialty packaging. Serving a variety of sectors such as foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and industrial markets, Novolex has established itself as a leader in the packaging industry. The company’s expertise spans an extensive variety of substrates such as resin, paper, molded fiber, aluminum, and more, enabling it to offer both stock and customized packaging solutions. With a vast portfolio that encompasses 120 product categories, 250 brands, and over 39,000 SKUs, Novolex supports customers with broad and innovative packaging products tailored to their specific needs.
The company is also deeply committed to sustainability, focusing on three pillars: its products, operations, and people. These pillars form the cornerstone of Novolex’s sustainability vision and guide the company's growth trajectory and future endeavors. Through broad and diverse initiatives, the company continually strives to meet ambitious sustainability goals, making it a socially responsible choice for employees, customers, and partners alike.
Novolex is currently hiring a Utility Maintenance Technician for its Franklin Park, IL facility, with immediate start opportunities. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, offering a starting wage ranging from $19.67 to $27.31 per hour, depending on experience level. The role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of the facility by providing maintenance support to keep buildings compliant with local, state, and federal safety and operational regulations.
The Utility Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining equipment and facilities, executing maintenance tasks that contribute directly to operational efficiency and safety. This position demands a candidate comfortable working independently, with the ability to handle hand tools, small mechanical jobs, and utilize equipment such as scissor and articulating lifts. Adherence to safety protocols, including lockout-tagout procedures and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) use, is an essential aspect of this job.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the maintenance team, assisting with cleaning and de-greasing machinery and performing other maintenance-related duties as needed. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to grow their career within a reputable manufacturer that values sustainability, teamwork, and safety. Novolex offers a supportive and engaging work environment where employees can further develop their skills through continuous training and development programs, including access to company and industry-specific education and a tuition reimbursement program.
Moreover, Novolex fosters a strong community connection by supporting initiatives aimed at sustainability and addressing food and hunger challenges. Employees are encouraged to participate in local community activities, reflecting the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility.
By joining Novolex, employees become part of a mission-driven company that not only delivers innovative packaging solutions but also invests significantly in their workforce's well-being and professional growth.
