RWJ New Brunswick maintains a strong focus on employee well-being, diversity, and inclusion, fostering a collaborative work environment where healthcare professionals can thrive and grow in their careers.

This full-time position as a Utility Food Service worker within the Dietary-Management department is an essential role, particularly focused on evening shifts, contributing to the smooth and sanitary operation of the hospital's food services. The role offers an hourly wage of $16.00 and is designed for candidates who can commit to the schedule of Monday through Friday, including every other weekend and holidays, with working hours from 6:00am to 2:30pm or 7:00am to 3:30pm. This job is ideal for those who value strict adherence to food safety guidelines, proper handling of food products, and maintaining cleanliness and order within a healthcare food service environment.

The Utility Food Service worker is tasked with critical functions such as loading and transporting food trucks, washing dishes, garbage removal, and ensuring overall sanitation in the department. They operate under stringent HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) policies, which are crucial in maintaining high standards of food safety to protect patient health. All cold food items must be kept at or below 41 degrees Fahrenheit, and proper food temperatures must be consistently monitored and maintained. Additionally, the role requires food products to be properly dated, wrapped, and labeled in compliance with established guidelines, ensuring that the hospital's food service meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

This position not only supports the dietary needs of patients but also contributes to the overall healthcare environment by ensuring that hygiene and safety standards are rigorously upheld. The role requires vigilance and dedication since improper handling and sanitation in food services could directly impact patient health outcomes. As such, the Utility Food Service worker plays a vital part in the broader healthcare mission of RWJ New Brunswick.
