This role is for Utility/Dishwasher Workers within SSP’s airport restaurant venues. The position plays a critical part in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of restaurant areas for guests and team members alike, ensuring a safe and pleasant dining atmosphere. Utility/Dishwasher Workers at SSP are responsible for cleaning and maintaining hygienic work and dining areas. Duties include washing dishes and kitchen utensils by hand or in commercial dishwashers, sanitizing surfaces such as floors, walls, vents, grills, and refrigerators, and managing waste disposal. They assist in stocking and rotating food supplies, handling incoming shipments, and resetting tables in dining areas to enhance overall guest experience. This role requires standing for long periods and working efficiently in confined spaces to meet strict sanitary standards and ensure smooth restaurant operations.
The position demands excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to understand English to interact with guests and team members effectively. Candidates should have a minimum of six months experience in retail or food service environments and hold a food handler’s permit where required. Brand certification may also be necessary. Job Duties
- Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
- Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas
- Remove refuse to designated areas
- Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings, as needed and transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
- Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place
- Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards, may include the use of heavy equipment
- Assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server/supervisor
- Load/unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
- Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
- Other duties as assigned
