Marriott International is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction. With a diverse portfolio encompassing hotels and related lodging facilities all over the world, Marriott offers unique experiences that celebrate culture, comfort, and wellness. One of Marriott's distinguished brands, Westin Hotels & Resorts, focuses strongly on wellness, ensuring guests can regain control and enhance their well-being while traveling. This brand aims to create a supportive and engaging environment for both guests and associates, encouraging personal and professional growth through wellness programs and a culture that values diversity and inclusion. Marriott International is dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering an environment where associates of all backgrounds are welcomed and valued. The company emphasizes safety, professionalism, quality standards, and teamwork throughout its operations.
The role of Utility Cleaner at Westin, part of the Marriott family, is vital in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency that guests expect. This full-time, non-management position primarily supports various hotel departments including kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry. Utility Cleaners are responsible for multiple cleaning functions such as preparing fresh linens, cleaning dishware, and operating specialized cleaning equipment like dishwashing machines and linen washers. The position typically requires the ability to move, lift, and transport items up to 50 pounds and involves standing, walking, and physical tasks like bending and stooping throughout the shift. The role favors candidates with open availability and prefers evening shifts to support the hotel's operational needs.
Utility Cleaners contribute significantly to guest satisfaction by ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. Their tasks are essential to the smooth flow of hotel operations, enabling other departments to function effectively. Working at Westin means not only performing these duties with diligence but also demonstrating professionalism in appearance and communication, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to quality work standards. Utility Cleaners also collaborate closely with other associates to foster positive working relationships and help achieve shared goals. Reporting unsafe conditions or incidents promptly is a crucial aspect of maintaining a secure workplace. Marriott offers its associates a place to belong where they can begin their purpose, do their best work, and become their best selves.
