The Utility Cleaner position at The Ritz-Carlton plays a pivotal support role across multiple departments, including kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry, helping to maintain the seamless operation of hotel services. These associates are responsible for a wide range of cleaning and maintenance duties, from preparing clean linen and spotless dining ware to operating cleaning equipment such as dishwashers and laundry machines. The role demands physical agility for tasks like lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, along with prolonged standing, sitting, or walking and abilities such as bending, twisting, and stooping. Beyond the physical responsibilities, the role requires dedication to safety, professionalism in appearance and communication, and a commitment to upholding the company's quality and operational standards. Job Requirements

  • No high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • No prior work experience necessary
  • Ability to perform physical labor including lifting objects up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work full-time in a non-management role
  • Availability to work on-site at 1250 S Hayes St, Arlington, Virginia
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and company procedures

Job Duties

  • Support cleaning needs across departments such as kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry
  • Prepare fresh linen and spotless dining ware for guests
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, and linen washers and dryers
  • Transport dishware and linens throughout the hotel
  • Create and maintain a safe workplace by adhering to safety standards and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Follow company policies and procedures rigorously
  • Maintain professional appearance and communication
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Reach overhead and below knees including bending and stooping
  • Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
