The role of Utility Cleaner at The Notary Hotel is a vital non-management, part-time position within the Food and Beverage and Culinary category. Utility Cleaners play an essential supporting role across various hotel departments such as kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry to maintain cleanliness standards that ensure a flawless guest experience. These associates are responsible for performing diverse cleaning duties including operating and maintaining cleaning equipment like dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, and linen washers and dryers. They ensure that fresh, clean linen and spotless dining ware are readily available to guests and other hotel departments. Additionally, Utility Cleaners assist with the transportation of dishware and linens throughout the hotel, carrying out whatever tasks are necessary to support the hotel’s operations.

Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, including adhering to company policies, following procedures, and creating a safe working environment. Utility Cleaners must uphold high-quality standards, maintain professional personal appearance and communication, and foster positive working relationships with colleagues across departments. The job entails physical activity such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, sitting, or walking for long periods. Flexibility and willingness to perform a variety of reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors are crucial. Importantly, Utility Cleaners are expected to report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly to management to ensure workplace safety.
