Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef/Director of Dietary Services with food and supply inventory calculation
  • attend to kitchen spills quickly and maintain cleanliness
  • assist in meal preparation and manage portion control including special diets
  • follow sanitation programs, schedules, and inspections
  • ensure proper food storage and prevent contamination
  • assist with receiving, inspection, and storage of supplies
  • remove trash and monitor garbage areas
  • wash, scrub, and dry dishes, utensils, beverage containers, and cooking pots
  • manage dishwashing stations and ensure chemical usage complies with guidelines
  • perform preventive maintenance on dishwashing equipment
  • transport dishes to main kitchen for cleaning
  • set up and break down resident events as assigned
