The Utility Associate plays a critical part in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of the kitchen and work areas. Key responsibilities include cleaning equipment such as work tables, refrigerators, and meat blocks; washing utensils, pots, and pans either by hand or using dishwashing machinery; managing waste disposal; and ensuring floors, windows, and trash cans remain sanitary. Additionally, this role involves monitoring inventory levels of beverages such as keg beers and sodas, loading and unloading supply trucks, and transferring supplies between storage and work areas.

The position demands physical ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods and to lift or move items up to 40 pounds. Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and interact responsibly with the public are essential. Job Requirements

  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
  • Demonstrates ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
  • Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a utility or cleaning role in the hospitality industry is a plus
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions clearly
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner
  • Basic literacy to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents

Job Duties

  • Clean equipment including work tables, refrigerators, and meat blocks
  • Clean utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using dishwashing machines
  • Return clean utensils, pots, and pans to designated places
  • Remove trash and garbage to designated areas
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and buff floors using heavy equipment
  • Clean walls, windows, and steam clean trashcans
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or hand truck
  • Load and unload supply trucks
  • Follow all security and safety procedures established by the company
