The Utility Associate role is an integral part of HMSHost’s airport operations, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas, thereby ensuring that sanitary standards are consistently met. The primary duties include cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and workstations, as well as handling supplies such as ice, keg beers, bib sodas, and CO2 containers. The Utility Associate also manages the loading and unloading of supply trucks, ensuring a smooth supply chain within the establishment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in cleaning or janitorial roles preferred
  • ability to follow safety and sanitary standards
  • strong physical stamina and ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • good communication skills
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Cleans equipment which may include work tables, refrigerators, meat blocks and other equipment
  • cleans utensils, pots and pans by washing them by hand or place them in a dishwashing machine
  • returns clean utensils, pots and pans to their proper places
  • removes trash and garbage to designated areas
  • sweeps, mops, scrubs and buffs floors using heavy equipment
  • cleans walls, windows and steam cleans trashcans
  • stocks, dates, rotates and checks temperature of product
  • transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or hand truck
  • loads and unloads supply trucks
  • follows all security and safety procedures established by the company
