The Utility Associate role at HMSHost is a vital position focused on maintaining high sanitary and safety standards within the workplace. This non-exempt position involves a variety of responsibilities that ensure the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the restaurant environment. The Utility Associate is tasked with cleaning equipment, floors, workstations, utensils, pots, and pans using specific chemicals to comply with sanitation regulations. Additionally, duties include checking and replacing supplies such as ice, keg beers, bib sodas, and CO2 containers as necessary. The role also involves logistical tasks like loading and unloading supply trucks and transferring supplies between storage and work areas.

This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for extended periods. Job Duties

  • Clean equipment including work tables, refrigerators, and meat blocks
  • clean utensils, pots, and pans by hand or dishwasher
  • return cleaned items to proper places
  • remove trash and garbage to designated areas
  • sweep, mop, scrub, and buff floors using heavy equipment
  • clean walls, windows, and steam clean trashcans
  • stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
  • transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • load and unload supply trucks
  • follow all security and safety procedures
