The role of Utility Associate at HMSHost is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the kitchen and service areas. This position is hourly and non-exempt, starting at $20.85 per hour, and involves a variety of tasks including cleaning equipment, utensils, and workstations to ensure sanitary standards are met consistently. The Utility Associate is responsible for monitoring and replenishing supplies such as ice, keg beers, bib sodas, and CO2 containers, as well as loading and unloading supply trucks. This role requires physical stamina to manage the demands of cleaning duties, including the ability to bend, twist, stand for long periods, and lift items up to 40 pounds.
Essential functions include cleaning work tables, refrigerators, meat blocks, walls, and windows, as well as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing floors with heavy equipment. The Utility Associate returns clean utensils and pots and pans to their designated places and handles the removal of trash and garbage. They must follow all company security and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with established standards to maintain a safe work environment. The position also demands good communication skills, the ability to follow written instructions, and an outgoing personality to interact positively with coworkers and the public.

Job Duties
- Clean equipment including work tables, refrigerators, and meat blocks
- clean utensils, pots, and pans by hand or dishwasher
- return clean utensils, pots, and pans to proper locations
- remove trash and garbage to designated areas
- sweep, mop, scrub, and buff floors using heavy equipment
- clean walls, windows, and steam clean trashcans
- stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
- transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- load and unload supply trucks
