The Utility role involves more than routine cleaning; it requires a proactive attitude in tackling essential tasks that keep operations running smoothly. You will be responsible for ensuring that all restaurant areas, including floors, ceilings, walls, windows, service counters, and storage spaces, are kept spotless. This includes utilizing a variety of cleaning tools and chemicals safely and effectively to meet sanitation standards. Your hands-on duties will extend to removing refuse, clearing and resetting tables, handling dishwashing either manually or using commercial dishwashers, and restocking supplies.

Besides the physical aspects of the job, this role requires a friendly and approachable demeanor, as Utility team members often interact with guests and assist with unique requests. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • able to stand and move for extended periods
  • capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in cleaning, sanitation, or food service roles beneficial
  • ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • ability to follow safety protocols and handle cleaning chemicals properly
  • friendly and positive attitude when interacting with guests and team members

Job Duties

  • Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
  • maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas
  • remove refuse to designated areas
  • clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings and transport service-ware to kitchen for cleaning
  • scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place
  • clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards, which may include the use of heavy equipment
  • assist guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server or supervisor
  • load and unload supply trucks and transfer items between storage and work areas
  • stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of food items
  • perform other duties as assigned
