The Utility/Dishwasher Worker role at SSP is vital to maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our restaurant units. This position ensures that all areas meet health and safety standards, providing a clean environment that enhances guest satisfaction and supports our kitchen and service teams. The role involves cleaning and maintaining surfaces and equipment, handling refuse disposal, and managing food and supply stock. The ideal candidate will be attentive to detail, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and committed to upholding the high standards of SSP America’s airport dining establishments. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Minimum six months experience working in retail or food service environment
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English
  • Experience in dealing with guest service problems
  • Food handlers permit as required by law
  • Brand certification as required
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas
  • Remove refuse to designated areas
  • Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings and transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
  • Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to proper storage place
  • Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards
  • Assist guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server or supervisor
  • Load and unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
  • Perform other duties as assigned
