The Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead position at Sam's Club is a dynamic role that focuses on managing and driving the success of the prepared foods area within the club. This role involves supervising a team of hourly associates who prepare and serve meals, ensuring that product quality, safety, and member satisfaction remain top priorities. As a department lead, you will collaborate closely with other team leaders to meet the business plan objectives and overall club goals. The role requires an individual who is both a strong leader and an expert in prepared foods operations, capable of managing production, inventory, sanitation, and compliance standards. This role requires a minimum of six months of experience either working in a fresh production department or supervising a team, with a preference for candidates who have food handler certification and experience in team leadership. The lead is responsible for driving sales, maintaining operational standards, managing staffing, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Utilizing digital tools, this individual will make data-driven decisions to enhance production and associate engagement. The position is located at 4201 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Supervise team within all prepared foods departments including café and rotisserie
  • Facilitate rotations through fresh areas and manage member needs to meet business plan goals
  • Execute company programs and ensure compliance with policies
  • Maintain knowledge of floor and backroom operations ensuring quality, inventory, sanitation, safety, and compliance
  • Manage seasonality, new products, recipes, and production priorities
  • Collaborate with associates and third parties to provide resources and training
  • Use digital tools and hand held technology to drive sales and improve operations
  • Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, staffing, merchandising, and safety
  • Engage with other departments and vendors to ensure operational continuity
  • Teach, train and develop team members
  • Implement processes and practices to improve business
  • Promote compliance and ethical standards
  • Lead and participate in teams to coordinate work and adapt to change
