Sam's Club is a leading membership-only retail warehouse club, dedicated to providing high-quality goods and services at outstanding value to its members. As a subsidiary of Walmart, one of the world's largest retailers, Sam's Club combines convenience, affordability, and excellent customer service to deliver an exceptional shopping experience. With locations across the United States, including the Beaumont, TX facility, Sam's Club is committed to innovation, operational excellence, and a culture that supports respect, integrity, and excellence among its associates. The company offers competitive compensation, comprehensive health benefits, financial planning options, paid time off, and educational opportunities to help associates thrive both personally and professionally.
As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead at Sam's Club, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and supervising a dynamic team responsible for creating and serving delicious meals to members, ensuring they receive great value and quality. You will oversee various fresh food departments including café, rotisserie, and other prepared foods, facilitating team rotations and handling member needs to deliver on business objectives. Your leadership will directly influence the success of the department and the overall club's performance.
In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert on prepared foods operations, maintaining high standards for quality, inventory management, sanitation, equipment use, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for managing seasonal production changes, introducing new products, adhering to recipes, and overseeing production specifications to meet consumer demand efficiently.
Collaboration is key as you will work closely with associates, third-party vendors, and cross-departmental partners to ensure smooth operations and resource availability. Leveraging digital tools and handheld technology, you will make data-driven decisions to optimize production, enhance the member shopping experience, and boost associate engagement. Your ownership mentality will drive operational excellence through effective staffing, merchandising, cleanliness, and adherence to audit and compliance standards.
A critical part of your responsibilities includes developing your team members by identifying training needs, providing skills development, and promoting career growth opportunities within the company. You will also play a role in talent acquisition, ensuring the department attracts and retains top talent to meet business demands. You will foster a culture that respects individuality, encourages diversity, inclusion, and belonging, and ensures associates feel supported and motivated.
Sam's Club values integrity, accountability, and transparency, and as a department lead you will model these behaviors daily. You will act with humility, honesty, and fairness, making decisions that are in the best interest of members, associates, and the company. Driving continuous improvement and adapting to change are vital to this role, as is a commitment to serving customers and delivering consistent results. The work environment is fast-paced and challenging, requiring strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a passion for food service excellence.
This position offers an hourly wage range of $21.00 to $29.00, with additional premiums available depending on specific work conditions such as schedule or location. Sam's Club provides an extensive benefits package, including medical, vision, dental coverage, 401(k) plans, stock purchase options, paid time off, and supportive programs like Military Leave Pay and adoption assistance. Educational advancement is encouraged through the Live Better U program, which fully covers tuition and fees for qualifying associates.
If you are a motivated leader with experience in fresh food production, passionate about creating enjoyable food experiences for customers, and excited to work in a collaborative, inclusive environment, becoming a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead at Sam's Club is a rewarding opportunity to grow your career and impact hundreds of members daily.
