This particular role is focused on facility support within Walmart's Plainfield, Indiana location. The position primarily involves maintaining clean, safe, and efficient facilities to ensure a positive and productive environment for associates, customers, and visitors. As a member of the facility services team, the individual will be responsible for setting up rooms for special events, performing minor maintenance and repairs, managing recycling processes, and addressing facility issues promptly to management. The role requires hands-on duties such as cleaning offices, restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, and common areas in adherence with company safety procedures and federal, state, and local regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.

Key responsibilities extend beyond cleaning and maintenance, encouraging a proactive approach towards facility management. This includes disassembling and cleaning drug dispensers, dusting, sweeping, mopping, stripping and waxing floors, vacuuming carpets, and sanitizing bathrooms and electronic devices. The position encourages continuous improvement and the ability to identify additional cleaning needs, requiring effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with managers, coworkers, and other business partners. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in facility support or custodial services preferred
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  • Must comply with Walmart’s drug-free workplace policy
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in custodial services or related field preferred
  • Ability to speak both English and Spanish languages preferred
  • Valid driver’s license or eligibility to obtain a driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Assists in facility support by setting up rooms for special events performing minor maintenance and repair activities collecting and transporting recyclables disassembling and cleaning drug dispensers and reporting facility issues to management
  • Ensures clean and sanitary facilities including offices restrooms conference rooms lobbies elevators parking lots by following safety procedures and regulations
  • Wears personal protective equipment empties waste receptacles and recycle bins dusts sweeps and wet mops strips and waxes floors sanitizes bathrooms and showers vacuums and spot cleans carpets and cleans electronic devices
  • Complies with company policies procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and using the Open Door Policy
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers coworkers customers and business partners identifying priorities deadlines and expectations communicating progress and information and recommending improvements
  • Builds high performing teams embraces differences in people cultures ideas and experiences creates a workplace of belonging and supports associate development
