The Cake Decorator position at Sam's Club is a dynamic and essential role within the bakery department, designed to deliver high-quality bakery products that meet and exceed member expectations. This role primarily focuses on decorating cakes with artistic skill using various decorating tools such as bags, tips, and nozzles to create visually appealing designs, flowers, and lettering. The Cake Decorator ensures that each baked product not only tastes excellent but also looks enticing and professional, adhering to food safety standards, sanitation, and cold chain compliance. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Cake Decorator works closely with other team members to maintain stock levels, control shrinkage, and prepare for seasonal or special events that affect bakery volume.
In addition to hands-on cake decorating, the position requires using digital tools for production management and inventory control. The Cake Decorator takes ownership of the bakery’s performance by maintaining quality and date control standards and addressing member needs by assisting them with purchasing decisions and promptly resolving any concerns. Job Requirements
- Six months experience in fresh production area
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Successful completion of job required trainings and assessments
- Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
- Compliance with company drug-free workplace policy
- Physical capability to perform bakery decorating tasks
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies
