The Bakery Department Lead at Sam's Club plays a crucial role in driving sales and managing the bakery department's operations to deliver high-quality baked goods that meet and exceed member expectations. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Six months experience in a bakery production department or six months experience supervising a team
  • Ability to complete all job-required trainings and assessments successfully within a prescribed time period
  • Commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace as per company policy
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other leaders
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards

Job Qualifications

  • Six months experience in a bakery production department or supervising a team
  • Knowledge of bakery production processes and safety standards
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Competency in using digital tools and technology for business operations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Food handler certification preferred
  • Experience in bakery production including decorating preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervises the team within the bakery department to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club by communicating goals and executing company programs
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of bakery business, operations, product specifications, and seasonality to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Leverages digital tools to drive sales, improve shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement
  • Ensures operational excellence by maintaining a clean, safe work area, planning and staffing for bakery volume, and driving consistency in product quality and food safety
  • Leads and participates in training and development of team members to enhance skills and encourage career growth
  • Develops and implements processes to meet business needs, collaborating with managers, coworkers, and customers
  • Promotes and enforces compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and integrity across all bakery operations
